Virtual introduction to Airbrushing 101

I am very excited to be able to offer 1 to 1 introduction to airbrushing course in the comfort of your own home, virtually through the power of Zoom. With covid making us all work differently we have all be getting used to doing things digitally that we would normally do in person. So am now offering the first of my workshops in this format. I am only offering one to ones to start with but will look to offer group in the future.

This course is aimed at anyone who has an airbrush but is not sure how to get started to get good results or for anyone who is thinking about getting an airbrush and would like to know where to start.

Unlike my in person workshops you will need to have your own equipment. Airbrush, aircompressor, hoses and some paint (liquitex acrylic ink is a good starting place.) and something to paint on. Some quality smooth paper is fine. If you have a printer I can send you some images to print for the workshop. you will also require a craft knife.

You will also need a computer with a web camera or a tablet as we will be using zoom. You might also need a tripod to hold the camera so I can see what you are doing to offer advice.

Over the half a day we will cover;

Which airbrush will suit your requirements.

The different types of airbrushes available. Syphon, gravity and side-feed and the different spray sizes and the benefits of each.

Paint choices based on what you are aiming to paint. Canvas (fine art.) Models, automotive or textiles.

How to reduce paint, set air-pressure to get smooth painting.

Different painting surfaces and mediums you can paint on.

Practice exercises to cover the must know brush strokes. This will take up the majority of the workshop but the exercises will teach you the control to have confidence moving forward to experiment and improve on your own.

Masking, stencils, shields and other techniques.

We will then put these together to get you started on a little final practice piece.
